Budget Deficit and Small Business

The state is facing an estimated $20 billion budget deficit. Cutbacks and tax increases have been called for. However, taxes have already been increased to balance the budget. Last year, taxes were increased $12.5 billion.

Public employee unions have issued a list of possible tax increases to raise $40 billion dollars. Many of those tax increases fall on business. Crushing tax increases will only slow or stop economic recovery.

SBAC is making the case against more tax increases now and against the special interests pushing their agenda to the detriment of an economic healthy California.

SBAC will be part of the debate looking out for small business and the consequences that small business might suffer if some of the recommended "fixes" are implemented.
